About Me

Dana Martin
Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant
I previously worked in sales for years helping small businesses. I've always had a passion for helping others! Fast forward to when I became a mom. When my first son was born, I had no idea what I was doing as a first-time mom. When my son was a newborn, he had a lot of sleep struggles. I remember my husband and I taking turns walking around the house with him in the middle of the night for hours trying to get him to sleep. When he was 5 months old, he was still waking up every 2-3 hours and wouldn't go to sleep unless he was fed or rocked. As someone who loves my sleep, I knew I had to do something because I was so exhausted! When I went online to look up sleep training, I was completely overwhelmed with the information out there. I couldn’t believe all of the different sleep training techniques and all of the different things you could try and implement. I spent countless hours trying to research sleep and this is when I realized, I enjoyed learning about pediatric sleep!
When my second son was born, I felt like I knew more, but I also wanted to make sure that I started sleep training him earlier than my first son and to not create any bad habits in the beginning. When my son was 3 months old, I introduced age-appropriate wake windows, healthy sleep foundations, daily routines and a schedule. When he was around 4 months old, I sleep trained him and he caught on very fast.
As I started talking to other moms in the community, a lot of them would tell me about their sleep struggles and that they didn't know what to do. I started giving advice to different moms and realized that I enjoyed giving advice and trying to help these moms!
It wasn’t until I heard someone ask “does anyone know of a local sleep consultant?" That I suddenly thought, I could do that job!
I created Dana’s Little Sleepers LLC and it's been so amazing to see the difference that good, quality sleep brings in the families that I help!
Why Hire a Sleep Consultant?
Saving Time
When you're already exhausted, spending hours researching sleep training can feel impossible. With so much conflicting information online, it can be difficult to know which advice to trust. A pediatric sleep consultant takes the guesswork out of the process by providing expert guidance and a clear, personalized plan, so you can spend less time searching for answers and more time getting the rest your family needs.
Personalized Plan
Every baby and family is different. A pediatric sleep consultant creates a customized sleep plan that fits your child's age, temperament, and your family's parenting style and goals. The sleep plan includes a daily schedule, routines, sleep training techniques, night training, weaning feedings, nap training, early morning wakings and additional tips like ideal sleep environment, etc.
Expert Guidance
A pediatric sleep consultant is knowledgeable about healthy infant and child sleep. They can help identify what's disrupting your child's sleep and provide evidence-based strategies to help your little one develop healthy, independent sleep habits. Having an experienced professional guide, can give you confidence that you're using methods that are both effective and appropriate for your child's stage of development.
Ongoing Support
Sleep training can come with questions, setbacks, and unexpected challenges. Having a pediatric sleep consultant by your side means you'll receive encouragement, troubleshooting, and plan adjustments along the way, giving you confidence throughout the process. The ongoing support helps you stay consistent, which is one of the biggest keys to achieving lasting sleep success.
